Apache has ramped up its rig count in the Permian nearly 5X to 25 rigs.

In its drive for oil, Chesapeake now lists the Permian basin as an “unconventional liquids play” and defines it as a combo of the Midland and Delaware basins.

In the same area as Concho, EOG is planning on tripling its rig program to 3 in 2012 with multiple Bone Spring objectives below the shale. EOG reports EUR’s on the NM side
are indicating 300 Mboe/well with IP’s in the 600 to 700 b/d range with various amounts of gas.
