In Mexico's latest oil auction since
energy reform was passed in late 2013,
Germany's DEA Deutsche Erdoel and
Egypt's Cherion Holdings won rights
to partner with state-run Pemex on two
onshore blocks located in
Tabasco state. However, none
of the 10 bidders submitted
an offer for the Ayin-Batsil shallow water
concession that was also up for grabs.
DEA beat out three other companies
with its tie-breaking US$213.8 million bid
to partner with Pemex on a 50:50 basis
