Canada’s crude index has shown a modest increase despite a recent decision by The Bank of Canada to increase its overnight lending rate for the first time in seven years, a policy which sent other rates higher. On July 12, the Bank of Canada raised its overnight lending rate by 25 basis points to 0.75% from 0.5%.
