Analyst Position (docFinder database)
Job Description:
PLS serves the oil and gas industry with information, transaction and advisory services. The entry level Data Analyst will work in PLS’ data aggregation and read various public data sources and news content for relevant oil and gas activity Candidate's responsibility will be to analyze multiple oil and gas presentations a day and tag for important content and numerical data based on the intent of the slides. The position requires a heavy focus of data analysis and attention to detail and the knowledge you gain will prepare you for a career in the energy sector and expose you to the most current developments in the oil business. It also offers an opportunity to learn the Oil and Gas industry and with the opportunity for advancement into other departments within PLS.

Job Functions:
- Analyze and Code hundreds of oil and gas company slides every day
- Work with minimal supervision after initial training period
- All other duties as assigned

Job Type:
Full-time, 40 hrs./week.

Majors:
Recently Graduated or close to graduation students in Undergrad or Graduate School in Engineering, Finance, Math, History, Journalism etc.

Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Time Management
- Knowledge of Basic Oil and Gas Terminology, Oil and Gas Units, Basic Financial Terminologies
- Microsoft Office
- Attention to Detail
- Fast Learner
- Organized, yet flexible enough to Multi-task
- Windows Software and basic Internet tools and processes (Google Chrome, downloading, browsing etc.)

Experience:
- Previous Oil and Gas Data Entry/Data Mining Experience is preferred although not required; training will be provided.

This is an office-based job requiring a 40+ hour week with overtime pay thereafter.

Receptionist
Job Description:
PLS Inc. is looking for a full time receptionist. The receptionist position will also include data entry work. Day to day tasks involve answering phones and manning a switchboard and entering information into the computerized database. The type of information varies per project, and might be text based, image based or numerical. Most training will be on the job, learning how to use PLS' specialized database technology.

Accuracy. The information in our databases is used to reach customers and by clients for senior level decision-making, so it's vital that it is correct. PLS needs to be sure they are mailing information to the right people, or that the right details are recorded for each customer.

Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Computer literacy (familiarity with the Windows platform)
- Receiving visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately
- Answering phones and directing calls as needed
- Perform other receptionist duties suck as filing, photocopying, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Access is a plus
- Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills (person, phone, email)
- Fluent in English
- Time management skills to balance multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work quickly (but without mistakes)
- Good attention to detail
- Proven organization skills
- Familiarity with effective Google skills and LinkedIn is a plus

Sales Position
Job Description:
PLS, Inc., a Houston-based energy publishing, research and transactions firm, is seeking an experienced salesperson to join the sales team. Daily tasks will include making calls to clients and non-clients of PLS, providing customer service and collecting data. The successful candidate will follow up on leads and generate new ones.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of sales experience
- Knowledge of the oil and gas industry is preferred
- Must be a team player

Energy Writer
Job Description:
PLS Inc. is looking for an experienced writer to cover the oil and gas industry. The individual will be responsible for assisting in the writing of content covering oil and gas finance and capital and mergers and acquisitions. Beyond covering aggregated news, the individual must be able to identify trends in order to generate insightful, original content.

Responsibilities:
- Write up story assignments on a daily basis
- Check news wires and other media outlets for additional story prompts
- Write a minimum of 1,600 words a day
- Submit well-researched and grammatically clean content
- Deliver content on time


Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Journalism
