McMoran Oil & Gas has over 100 Tcfe potential in the GOM shelf Ultra Deep play and three discoveries to date. Two (Blackbeard East and Blackbeard West) are in the Miocene/Wilcox and Oligocene/Frio plays. One (Davy Jones) is in the Wilcox/Cretaceous play. Another 11 prospects are in the wings and under lease. One - Lafitte - is currently drilling.

Murphy Oil Company is also hunting the world in a managed approach. The 2011/2012 exploration program is focused on oil with 18 to 32 wells on the docket. Exploration wells will occur in the GOM (3), Congo (1-3), Kurdistan (2 ), Malaysia (5 - 8), Brunei (5 -12), Indonesia (1-2) and Australia (1-2). Targeting 3.5 billion boe gross (350 MMBOE net).
