With PLS' docFinder database,  we recently viewed a slide from ExxonMobil which looked familiar.  With a quick search and seek, we were able to find and compare BP and ExxonMobil's fundamental outlook for population growth, GDP growth and Energy Demand to the year 2030.  

According to ExxonMobil's version, sourced from XOM's 2010 "The Outlook for Energy - A View to 2030", growing global populations seeking to advance economically will drive energy demand by an average of 1.2% annually.

Given the playbook, ExxonMobil's presentation provides excellent detail on the role of unconventional resources for the future of the Energy sector.  In contrast, BP's recent presentation focused more on its strength in exploration including deepwater opportunities.  Two companies, two messages.

As the slide above shows, Apache set a quarterly production record of 752,000 boe/d. Cash flow also scored another record, $2.7 billion for the quarter. The results exemplify Apache's pacesetting attributes including: Relentless, Urgent, Empowered, Independent, Conservative.

Anadarko is another pacesetter.  In its Line-of-Sight, the company has visibility for 7-9% compound growth in production through 2014 with increasing liquids component.  The company also maintains optionality on world class projects beyond 2014 that provide high impact to production and EBITDA.

Cabot's expanding growth rate over the last three years has certainly been rewarding for its shareholders.  Its success in the Marcellus continues with recent new records like 12.5 days from spud to TD with casing and production of 520 MMcf/d.

Halliburton appears to running on all cylinders beating out the competition in growth of operating income since Q1 2008. Thanks go largely to pressure pumping services where Halliburton has jumped from #4 to #1 with a 17.5% CAGR since 2001.  The future looks bright as spending is forecast to grow.
